Applications invited for two full-timeresearch positionswith immediate vacancy in Subproject INF of the new Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1288 ‘Practices of Comparison’ (E13 TV-L) (non-permanent positions). The successful candidates will participate in the CRC Subproject INF ‘Data Infrastructure and Digital Humanities’ (Data and Information Infrastructure). The posts are situated in the Faculty of History, Philosophy, and Theology.
Main responsibilitiesto carry out research in the field of digital humanities (min. 50%)to develop and provide a collaborative digital work environment for the data and information infrastructure of the entire CRC projectto link together information structures, research management, and digital humanities in order to further develop research methodologies in the field of the humanitiesto draw up technical solutions for the long-term data availability and therefore the traceability of future publications in the different research projectsto integrate the services to be set up in the information infrastructure of the university in cooperation with those responsible (ca. 40%)to participate in joint research projects and discussions in the INF subproject and to contribute to events such as project-oriented workshops (approx. 5%)to contribute to the main topics of discussion and research in the CRC project and to help plan and organize CRC events (approx. 5%)Working language is German.Applicant’s Profile
The successful candidate is expected:
to hold an academic degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. computer science, computational linguistics, or information technology) or in a CRC-1288-related discipline in cultural studies or history (e.g. history, literary studies, or imagology)to have knowledge in the field of the digital humanities- to demonstrate team spirit and a collaborative approach to research
The successful candidate should preferably have experience in cooperating with researchers and working with their data- to have profound knowledge and experience in the development of scientific applications- be interested in the further development of research methodology in the humanities and cultural studies- have a working knowledge of German or be willing to learn German up to B2 level.
Salary will be paid according to Remuneration level 13 of the Wage Agreement for Public Service in the Federal States (TV-L). As stipulated in § 2 (1) paragraph 1 of the WissZeitVG (limited liability), the contract will end on December 31, 2020. In accordance with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, the length of contract may differ in individual cases. The employment is designed to encourage further academic qualification.In principle, these full-time positions may be changed into part-time positions, as long as this does not conflict with official needs.
